About The Universal Teaching

“In the foregoing pages I gave you certain broad principles and outlined a new aspect of the work which I had undertaken to do for humanity—under instruction from the Hierarchy.  The teaching I gave there is very abstruse; little of it can as yet be of real service to the majority of aspirants but a wide and general idea can take form and provide the immovable background for later teaching.  I would have you remember that the teaching which I have given out has been intermediate in nature, just as that given by H.P.B., under my instruction, was preparatory.  The teaching planned by the Hierarchy to precede and condition the New Age, the Aquarian Age, falls into three categories:

1. Preparatory, given 1875-1890...written down by H.P.B.

2. Intermediate, given 1919-1949...written down by A.A.B.

3. Revelatory, emerging after 1975...to be given on a worldwide scale via the radio.

In the next century and early in the century an initiate will appear and will carry on this teaching.  It will be under the same "impression," for my task is not yet completed and this series of bridging treatises between the material knowledge of man and the science of the initiates has still another phase to run.  The remainder of this century, as I told you elsewhere (Destiny of the Nations, page 106), must be dedicated to rebuilding the shrine of man's living, to reconstructing the form of humanity's life, to reconstituting the new civilisation upon the foundations of the old, and to the reorganising of the structures of world thought, world politics, plus the redistribution of the world's resources in conformity to divine purpose.  Then and only then will it be possible to carry the revelation further.”

As well as everything in nature is under the law of triplicity these three given Categories of the Universal Teaching are connected to the three Main Rays.

The first Category is Preparatory. This Category is connected to the influence of the First Ray of Life, to the work of the Highest Mahatmas to promulgate a fragment of the occult knowledge, of the Teaching. But in accordance with the development point of the humanity the work proceeded mostly on the Third Ray of Activity or Knowledge. At the height of mental civilisation of the Fifth sub-race of the Fifth root-Race manifested mostly through the Anglo-Saxons the cosmic knowledge relevant to Manas was given for the further evolution of the mental beings into Manas. That stage of giving out of the Universal Teaching was not only preparatory (in relation to the giving out of knowledge) but also of Testament in accordance with the direct address of the Higher Mahatmas to representatives of mankind. Esoteric teaching took place at that stage in the Esoteric section under the direct leadership of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky.

The next category of the Universal Teaching given through Alice Ann Bailey in the first-second quarter of the XX century was intermediate as it follows from the statement of the Tibetan. The Teaching Which had been given through H.P.Blavatsky was much extended. Such sections were given as Teachings about Hierarchy and Shamballa, information about New Group of World Servers, the teaching about Seven Rays, Rules for the candidates for Initiation and the Fourteen Rules for Group Initiation. Instructions on discipleship on that stage were given out by the Tibetan (the Master Djwhal Khul) through Alice Bailey to the group of disciples in Europe and America, which was a new experience in group training for initiation. Those instructions including the teaching about Meditation were published in the two volumes of “Discipleship in the New Age”. Also Alice Bailey organized the “Arcane School” which was her own spiritual institution. On the whole the teaching about the Discipleship given on that stage was provided on the Second Ray of Love-Wisdom, emphasized the aspect of Consciousness and was transitional between the aspect of Knowledge (the Third Ray) and the aspect of Life (the First Ray). But a part of the Teaching given by the Tibetan, by His own admission, provided the background for later work of Group Initiation and was dedicated to the disciples who would be incarnated in the last quarter of the XX century. This Teaching is established in such books as “Rays and The Initiations” and “A Treatise on Cosmic Fire”. The Master Djwhal Khul foretold that “in the next century and early in the century an initiate will appear who will carry on series of bridging treatises between the material knowledge of man and the science of the initiates”.

But He also forestalls that this phase will begin if the teaching given in the first two phases is applied to the living circumstances in the three worlds. This is the very application of the Teaching which has been used as the basis of the spiritual work of the Teacher Lyudmila Yakovlevna Reznik with the group of disciples since 1973 in the USSR and Russia. Energetic approach to the recognition of all the events and states in life, group contact to the Hierarchy, practice of Septenary Meditation, applying of  the Science of Invocation and Evocation – all these are expressed in Revelation of restoration of the Mysteries by the Masters of Wisdom on the Earth. During this work not once there were also covered such themes as the building of group antahkarana, solving problems in the process of finding integrity of poles of soul consciousness, building up of Buddhial and Atmic bodies of the higher “Self”, processes of externalization of the Hierarchy, problems on the path of discipleship and initiation, conducting astrological influence into the Earth space, role of Russia in the Aquarius Age.
